Norm opens the show with words of appreciation for Harini Logan of San Antonio, Texas, the winner of the 2022 Scripps National Spelling Bee. Language is beautiful! In other words, the language we use defines us.  Norm is then joined by Shelton Tucker to discuss the Southern Poverty Law Center's recently published study showing a burgeoning belief that the United States is headed toward civil war. Why this national preening for chaos? Are we addicted to the rage within us? Shelton is formerly a client of Norm's and a great friend. Norm and Shelton talk about how Americans find community and how we as a nation can reach across the color lines. Norm admits that his relationships have been strained in his search to discover what has gone wrong in our world.  Are race relations getting worse? Better? What does Shelton hope for in the future?
