Launching Your Own Startup: Sweta Patel

Sweta Patel’s success is certainly in large part due to her drive to succeed. Growing up, her family life wasn't great but she was determined to overcome her family dynamics and make something of herself. She was hospitalized with an illness and was told that she would never be able to run long races ever again. Instead, she was determined to overcome and has come back stronger after this illness and ran her 4th half marathon earlier this year. In her first campaign, Pain to Victory, she learned many lessons that she would carry into her entrepreneurial journey. She learned that she wasn't just selling a book, she was selling a vision. She first had to sell her vision to women's shelters so that they would partner with her on the book. After that, she continued selling her vision to partners and sponsors who all helped to make her dream a reality. It was more than just selling a book, it was selling her passion.
