**Nick Cawthon** has been an active UX Practitioner in the San Francisco Bay Area for the last twenty years. He helps run the consultancy Gauge, specializing in user-centered research and design practices. Clients have included forward-thinking organizations such as Electronic Arts, Adobe, Airbnb and the Gates Foundation. Nick is a professor in Data Literacy and Visualization in the Design Strategy MBA program at his alma mater, California College of the Arts. --- In this episode, we dive deeper into the changing role of UX as a profession. The area of responsibility for UX professionals is becoming larger and larger and also more differentiated. On the other hand, due to the economic situation, the expansion of UX resources is stagnating or even declining in many companies. It goes without saying that these changes pose completely new challenges for UX managers.
