The nation of Israel failed to learn what God proved before they got to Mt. Sinai. Instead of "tak[ing] with you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips" as Hosea stated, Israel responded to the initial conditional basis of the law covenant by saying, "All that the LORD hath spoken we will do." But what did they get themselves into? The answer to that question is found in Leviticus 26.
