In September 2015 gravitational waves were directly detected for the first time. It was recorded simultaneously at two Laser Interferometer Gravitational-wave Observatories (LIGO) in Hanford, WA and Livingston, Louisiana. Spark Science attended a tour at LIGO with physic students from WWU and student correspondents Lia Cook and Nathan Miller.
