Lisa Arscott

from Running Commentary · host Rob Deering and Paul Tonkinson

A return to Edgbaston parkrun for Rob, and a chance to properly meet Lisa Arscott after they did a panel at the National Running Show last year. Featuring plenty of chat about Threshold events, Lisa's many running friends, ice underfoot, Ultra 50:50's quest for gender parity, accessibility to running in general, the Why and the Want, going back to work on Monday after running many-a-mile at the weekend, top training tips, Race To The King information, and lots of talk of food, glorious food. Threshold Sports’ new initiative – Ultra 50:50 – endeavours to achieve gender parity and set new industry standards to inspire, empower and enable women to take part in events at the toughest end of the running distance spectrum. The Ultra 50:50 mission sees Threshold Sports partner with SheRACES, grass roots running groups, female runners, as well as those not already in the running community, to not only understand the challenges that prevent women from taking part, but to address these challenges head on. Threshold Sports, hopes that by raising awareness of the challenges women face and showcasing the changes they have made to their events, they can provide a commercially sustainable blueprint for other event organisers that share this mission.
