The Symposium of women in literature that is set to start today in Johannesburg, South Africa will bring together women writers to discuss a range of issues that affect their profession. The theme is "looking back, looking Forward, Turmoil and Transformation- Asserting Women in the World", and the symposium is hosted by the department of arts and culture and arts alive.. The literary symposium will also host a special tribute to the life and work of the late Noble Laureate, Nadine Gordimer and African-American poet Jayne Cortez.
