This recording was made at the time of writing and collected with many of my other Songs from the Cat's Cupboard, as an archive of songs by Catherine M Thompson. I wrote this as a ukulele song, very old school. For this archival recording I sang it with Alistair Morrison on Guitar and Ted Lipiec on bass and accordion, as charted by Ted. It was later recorded by sisterLune on their album Many Moons, also uploaded to my tracks.

Dash Machete Dash Machete Who's the sharpest of them all?Bringing house elements to a classic hip-hop recipe, Dash Machete's sound is both familiar and unique. Her sharp punchlines, soul-lifting vocals, and hip-hop percussions are reminiscent of Sade, Azealia Banks, and Doja Cat. The radiant Caribbean vibe frequently woven into her songs distinguishes her music from several of her R&B/Hiphop counterparts. Growing up, Dash heard everything from Kelis, to The Beatles to disco in her home. Later being introduced to Lauryn Hill. In her 2017 ‘Jigsaw’ EP, Dash Machete illustrates the journey of artistry and finding her way through music. The whimsical flutes, airy violins, and vibrant piano chords go hand in hand with pop-R&B and hip-hop vibes. In her latest performance on W20’s platform, she leans into a more pop performance of the fierce and vulnerable single “Canvas”. It’s not often you see such range and dynamics from emerging artists, but it’s safe to say the world’s a better place with Dash sharing her music Heart Talks Raglan Community Radio A space on air to play some music from musicians that are in it from their hearts, and to have a chat about what it is to be in your own heart. Connect to your true self, and step into a life of doing what you love. We will also look at how to better connect to your animal family.I have scarred vocal cords from surgery that went a bit awry in 1987. So I sound a little bit different. I have to change a few settings on the radio control board thing to be heard better. Just a heads up in case you think the station has been taken over by aliens… or Darth VaderI’m a writer, facilitator and mentor working in heart connection and animal communication. And I looooove books! And line dancing! Also a Mum of three sons, all left home. And an animal Mum to Poppy (Jack Russell), Colin and Tabitha (Tabby cats), and Granny to Sizzler (Dachshund), all who live at home, still.Calls are welcome on the station landline to ask questions relating to the topic of the show.
