Living Stronger Together

from A Happy Cancer Podcast · host by Kellie Whitton, CaraKit Founder

In the premiere episode of A Happy Cancer Podcast, host Kellie Whitton — founder of CaraKit, former executive at Warner Bros. Pictures, and longtime advocate for women facing cancer — brings together three remarkable women to talk about what it truly means to live stronger together. After being diagnosed in 2020 with stage 2B/3A triple-positive breast cancer, Kellie underwent multiple lumpectomies, chemotherapy, and 30 rounds of radiation. When her cancer later spread to her brain in 2024, she faced surgery and further brain treatment with courage, curiosity, and determination — all while continuing her work to ensure that no one faces cancer alone. This first episode captures that same spirit of strength, honesty, and hope as Kellie is joined by three incredible guests who share their own powerful stories:Christie Pearl Nesbitt, Deaf Education Consultant for the Blue Springs School District in Kansas City, was diagnosed in 2017 with invasive ductal carcinoma and ductal carcinoma in situ (stage 2B), hormone-positive and HER2-negative. After a bilateral mastectomy and chemotherapy, she completed five years of Tamoxifen and continues on hormone therapy.Lynn Whitney, former Executive Vice President of Media at Lions Gate and Warner Bros., faced a rare “clear cell” type of endometrial cancer (stage 1B). Following a radical hysterectomy and extensive lymph node removal, she underwent chemotherapy with Carboplatin and Taxol.Cyndie Dunlap, former Chief Executive Officer of Sports Imports, battled breast cancer and, five years later, was diagnosed with multiple myeloma. Her story is one of profound resilience and finding light after unimaginable challenge.Together, these women speak candidly about:The moment of diagnosis — the fear, disbelief, and the need to find grounding. The emotional and physical toll of treatment — and what helps on the hardest days. The balance between strength and vulnerability. The transformative power of support, friendship, and shared experience. How cancer changes the way we see ourselves, our priorities, and our purpose. What unfolds is an authentic, deeply human conversation — filled with laughter, compassion, and truth. It’s not just about surviving cancer, but about living through it: redefining identity, rediscovering connection, and finding new ways to be strong.“You don’t have to carry this alone. We get stronger when we share our stories.”Living Stronger Together is a celebration of community and courage — a reminder that healing is not just medical, but emotional, spiritual, and collective. Whether you’re newly diagnosed, supporting someone you love, or years into remission, this episode offers hope, wisdom, and proof that we can live stronger — together.Follow A Happy Cancer Podcast for more real, uplifting conversations about facing cancer with grace, grit, and heart.
