Lonely Parenting
from Child of the Redwoods: Podcast · host Child of the Redwoods
I know some independent, confident women who need, in fact even crave a lot of space away from their partners. I’m not one of them. An intensely private introvert with few close IRL girlfriends, I picked a soulmate and can’t ever get enough time with him. So when he started traveling for work, often out of the country for a week or more at a time while I stayed at home alone with two young children, my world started falling apart. This is a story about anxiety, loneliness, and realizing that the journey toward independence and self-compassion never really ends. Montessori is not just a method of education for children. It’s a way of life - and sometimes quite a long and arduous journey for us as adults. Our deep dive for today is a sensorial and botany lesson: exploring leaves. Go gather a few and have a listen!
