The Goldbergs Old Time Radio DVD The Goldbergs is a comedy-drama broadcast from 1929 to 1946 on American radio, and from 1949 to 1956 on American television. It was adapted into a 1948 play, Me and Molly; a 1950 film, The Goldbergs; and a 1973 Broadway musical, Molly. WW2 - the Key Questions, answered by Laurence Rees. Laurence Rees A former Head of BBC TV History programmes, Laurence has specialized in writing books and making television documentaries about World War Two, the Nazis and Stalinism for thirty years. He won a BAFTA and a Peabody for his TV series 'The Nazis: A Warning from History' and a British Book Award for his book on Auschwitz, which is also the world's best selling book on this notorious camp. His book 'the Holocaust: A New History' was described by the Times as 'exemplary' and by the Daily Telegraph as 'the best single volume account of the atrocity ever written'. Educated at Oxford University, for several years he was a visiting senior fellow at the London School of Economics, London University. He holds honorary doctorates from the University of Sheffield and the Open University. Professor Robert Service, of Oxford University, described Rees as 'one of the world's experts on the Second World War'. The Jack Benny Program Old Tiime zhouyingfu The Jack Benny Program, which starred no less than Jack Benny himself, was a comedy series than went on-air for more than 30 years in both radio and television. It premiered on NBC Blue on May 2, 1932, and had its last episode on CBS radio on May 22, 1955, producing a total of 931 episodes. The TV adaptation, which was just a continuation of the radio program, was aired from 1950 to 1965.Apart from lead character Jack Benny, other radio stars included in the show were Eddie Anderson, Don Wilson, Dennis Day, Mary Livingstone, Phil Harris, Mel Blanc, and many more.The show made use of a show-within-format, where each character's role was no other than themselves. It would start with a performance from the orchestra, or sometimes a joke between Benny and Wilson. This was followed by gags between Benny and the rest of the cast, usually about the day's news, or about the characters themselves, most especially something about Benny's life.
