Here at Thy cross I hail Thee now, O Lamb of God, to Thee my vow And reverent homage paying. Here all would seem but pain and loss, As Thou must die on Thy dread cross, Thy Father’s will obeying. Yet in Thy tortured form I see God’s glory and His majesty, And my redemption’s story; Thee I acclaim as King and Lord, As worthy here to be adored As on Thy throne of glory. 2 To Thee, O Lord, I yield my heart, Naught from Thy love my soul can part, Thou prince of my salvation. An open way before me lies To Thee, and Thine own Paradise, The way Thy cross did fashion. Thy love and death to me assure The strength to dare and to endure, The faith to fail Thee never; I trust in Thee in life and death, He who is Thine and holds this faith Is saved, to live for ever.
