Carey and artist Peter Gross to talk about their upcoming Hill House Comics title, THE DOLLHOUSE FAMILY #1. Questions: There’s a rich tapestry of story and character as soon as you open the book. What is your process like creating this world of characters? There’s a layering of the story here, from the cutting between time to the dollhouse itself, what went into building this world, where do you start? Is there a lot of detail the reader will never see that helps you create? Peter, the different periods of time require you to draw very different clothing among other things. Is there any approach you take to differentiate the periods? If you don’t mind my asking, what prompted you to address domestic abuse in this story? Can you talk a bit about your workspaces? There seems to be a source of ancient and maybe even alien evil at work here. I can’t help but think of the monster It, and its origin, is there any connection there?Joe Hill was on the show 2 weeks ago and described The Dollhouse Family as “intelligent British horror” and said it was specifically like a kind of horror film from the early 70s that is scary but intelligently written like the Wicker Man. Would you liken it to Wicker Man, or any other horror be it movie or novel?Superfight: The kid from the Omen vs. Carrie - who wins a marathon?Off topic top shelf: Mike and Peter give us their go-to entertainment lately

Same format, the same humour, and poking more fun at the woke entertainment industry. The ongoing battle between "woke" players, big studios, shady producers, and major corporations trying to buy pop culture influence, has turned into a culture war. On one side, there are people like us who just care about good stories, without the influence of tick-box agendas being forced upon us through films, pop culture, comics, video games, and more. On the other side, bad actors are trying to influence everything we enjoy and consume, while we just want to be entertained. As entertainers, we should be able to escape the daily grind of politics, but unfortunately, we are constantly being pushed with political agendas from the minute we wake up to the minute we go to bed. Some of us just want to enjoy a good story without any political influence, but when creators say things Explicit The Bitchuation Room Francesca Fiorentini A weekly caucus of progressive comics, activists and thinkers hosted by Francesca Fiorentini Explicit Podcasts - The Geekyest The Geekyest No topic is off limits as long as it has to do with comics, movies, TV, video games, or music.
