Summary
Today, Wednesday September 23 - What does it mean to "walk in the Spirit, to live in the Spirit, to be filled with the Holy Spirit?" Years ago when I was attending Lynchburg Baptist College (1971-1975), I heard a chapel speaker make this statement I never forgot. He said, "Being filled with the Holy Spirit simply means making the right decisions." Jesus said that there are only two paths in life. One is the broad way that many people are going down and the other is the narrow way that few people find. Almost every moment of everyday we have two voices speaking to us. One is from the flesh, our old nature, that encourages us to please our self. The other is from the Holy Spirit, that encourages us to obey and do that which is the will of God for our lives. Only humility will give us the grace of God to obey. I love what Peter said in 2 Peter 1:3, "His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence...." Read the rest of this passage and you will find the freedom to "escape from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire." God bless! Have a great day!
