From Ron Olesko's WFDU-FM archives - a 1977 broadcast of an interview with Marjorie Guthrie. The second wife of Woody Guthrie, Marjorie was a major force in perpetuating the music and story of Woody, both during his lifetime and following his passing. She also created an organization that dramatically helped in the research for Huntington's Disease as well as improve patient care and the understanding of the disorder that inflicted Woody for the last 15 years of his life. Marjorie discusses Woody's battle with the disease, his music, politics and her family including son Arlo Guthrie. Joining Ron and Marjorie that day was TomTaylor, who was developing a one-man show as Woody Guthrie which would later run off-Broadway. This was the first one-on-one interview that Ron conducted for the station and it was also the first broadcast dedicated solely to folk music on WFDU.
