In today's meditation, we hear a bit more of Jesus' conversation with the people he fed at the beginning of the week. Here, he talks about eating his flesh and drinking his blood! What?? Yeah, that's how his disciples felt too, it seems. As you meditate on this passage, consider how God is speaking through these words, even these difficult words, and exposing more of Themself to you today.  Thanks as always for listening! IN the Beginning: The Spoken Word Podcast I AM Tasha Jones | REFLECTIONS iNK CORPORATION IN the Beginning: The Spoken Word Podcast is a living archive of rhythm, resistance, and renaissance. More than a podcast, it is a movement—one that captures the voices of Black poets and wordsmiths shaping the present while preserving the legacy of those who came before. Here, the spoken word is not just art but testimony, history, and prophecy. Each episode immerses listeners in evocative performances and deep conversations with poets who embody the call of Nina Simone—to reflect the times. These artists reclaim narratives, amplify truths, and transform language into a force of liberation. Demonstration of the Apostolic Preaching, The by Irenaeus (2nd cent - c. 202 CE) LibriVox Eusebius in his Ecclesiastical History tells us that in addition to his great work Against Heresies, St Irenaeus wrote A Discourse in Demonstration of the Apostolic Preaching. This work was entirely lost sight of: no one seems ever to have quoted a word of it. But it has quite recently reappeared in an Armenian manuscript together with Books IV and V of the greater work. The Armenian translation proves to be a fairly close rendering of the original Greek… What Irenaeus undertakes in the present work is to set out the main points of this Apostolic message, which, as he has explained in his greater work, has been handed down in the Church by the successions of the bishops and is the same in substance in all parts of the world, and to demonstrate its truth more especially from the sacred scriptures of the Old Testament. - Summary from Preface The Feature by World Outspoken World Outspoken The Feature is an interview-style podcast where we share stories of mestizo culture-makers creating beauty and promoting justice. Culture-makers are people who make and give shape to community life. Some makers focus on the arts and make memorials or monuments that help the public remember important events in their history. Some opt to shape their communities through education, hoping to instill ideals in the next generation that were found missing in the present one. Some make culture unintentionally by way of an invention or product they create. Culture-makers are an eclectic group that includes clergy, stay-at-home mothers, not-for-profit workers, architects, activists, inventors, teenage students, and elderly retired folk. Anyone who takes an interest in the community’s life and/or does something to influence it is culture-making.On this show, we focus on culture-makers that help communities flourish by sharing good news in their words and deeds.
