OVERexpressed & OUT Welcomes Kate Garza
Release Date: 05/03/2024
Description: Kate Garza had a remarkable introduction to yoga as a senior in college more than forty years ago and it was an immediate match. She has been vibing with it ever since in an adult life-long relationship.Early on when yoga teachers or classes were scarce in the U.S., Kate continued her own home practice while working in marketing and advertising. After marriage and three children in quick succession, she returned to yoga classes, by then more abundant, and worked to receive certification to teach Ashtanga yoga with Manju Jois in 2001.In the years since, she studied Mindfulness Meditation, Trauma Informed yoga, yoga for kids, functional anatomy, Hatha and Vinyasa practices while teaching in studios in the Philly suburbs. After a cancer diagnosis in 2012, she began to work with Qi Gong and other energy movement practices to heal and recover from treatment. She is now a Master Teacher of Energy Medicine Yoga, founded by Lauren Walker and teaches virtually, primarily with a dedicated following and she works individually or in small groups with those who are facing health challenges. She likes to surprise the energy curious as they discover their own energy movement and she continues to uncover layers of depth in this practice that connect us to our Earth, our health, and our state of being. If you’re energy curious, facing a health challenge, or want to connect with Kate Garza, find her at www.kategarza.com. Check out Kate’s FIVE SONGS THAT MAKE HER FEEL “WILDLY ALIVE”:“Dancing in the Moonlight” by King Harvest“Shaking the Tree” by Peter Gabriel “Burning Down The House” by Bonnie Raitt from her live album Road Tested (it’s better than the original Talking Heads, though I love them too)“Shining Star” by Earth Wind & Fire“As” by Stevie WonderEnjoy our playlist:OVERexpressed & OUT: Feeling Wildly Alive PLAYLISTShare the songs that make you feel “wildly alive!”
