In addition to being a Rabbi in Baltimore, he's also the founder of the Marriage Restoration Project. He has a lot of valuable insights into modern manhood, our relationships with women and the missing rite of passage from boyhood to manhood in today's culture. First off, Shlomo is a man who walks the talk. He and his wife have a great relationship and are raising a beautiful family. In his daily life, Shlomo works with men who want to achieve a closer connection with the woman in their lives but are at somewhat of a loss as to how to do so. Interestingly, he believes it's not because they lack knowledge or resilience, but rather because they've outgrown the emotional survival strategies they learned as boys. Shlomo is all about unlearning those outdated patterns and showing up with clarity, presence and emotional honesty. So how do we as men take ownership of our emotions instead of shaming or blaming? Could it be that we often feel threatened in relationships, even though we're supposed to be the man of the house? How can we avoid being either a petulant child or a passive wuss?
