Miles Davis X: What Does Cool Mean toYou?

from Music Legends · host Music Legends

In the final episode of Music Legends, Season Two. Miles Davis finds a youthful excitement in experimentation. He excels in using modern recording equipment and electronic instruments to make his last few iconic, genre-shifting albums. He also explores an entirely new art form via paintbrush and canvas.  A few months before Miles passed away, he told a close friend “The gods don’t punish people by not giving them what they want. The gods punish people  by giving them what they want and then not giving them time.”  Although those final years of Miles Davis's life might seem creative and peaceful, the truth is that he was in a constant race with time. Will he run this race to the grave? Or find peace before his time is up?    Quick-links  Follow Music Legends on Instagram Follow Music Legends on Facebook  Miles Davis Interview in Munich 1988 Miles Davis / Prince Live Performance LA Times Interview with Jo Gelbard
