Minnesota Invests $200K in Child Care | Duluth News
from Duluth News Today | 2 Min News | The Daily News Now!
Minnesota’s pouring serious cash into child care — $200,000 to the Northland Foundation in Duluth is just one of eleven grants totaling over $1.4 million statewide, aimed at creating more than 1,100 new child care spots and tackling workforce shortages. With 80% of this funding going to Greater Minnesota, the state is helping communities expand or launch child care services — from facility upgrades to staff training — so parents can work and kids stay safe. Since last year’s Office of Child Care launch, DEED has already distributed $13 million to 56 groups, opening 4,000+ slots across the state, from Melrose to Slayton.
