Mint Springs Opens for Summer Swimming
from Charlottesville News Today | 2 Min News | The Daily News Now!
Mint Springs Valley Park is finally open for swimming this weekend, joining Chris Greene Lake and Walnut Creek Park after passing water quality tests — and with sunny, 70-degree weather perfect for summer fun. All three parks will be open daily from 10 AM to 6 PM until August 9th, synced with school schedules to ensure full lifeguard staffing, including student lifeguards. Last year’s algae bloom and poor weather kept Mint Springs closed and the others quiet — but this time, safety and sunshine are back. Fees apply, but residents get discounts, and credit cards are now accepted. The county’s also asking for your feedback via a summer survey to keep improving the experience — because last time, community input helped reshape hours to better fit families.
