In this episode, Elsa speaks to Mitali Nikore who unpacks the range of gender inequities faced in India and the impact of unpaid care work on women. Mitali Nikore, an economist and gender policy specialist, is the founder of the youth-led research group Nikore Associates. She advises multilateralorganisations such as the Asian Development Bank, UN Women and the World Bank as well as private sector consulting firms such as EY and PwC. She is a part of the Global Shapers New Delhi Hub (an initiative of the World Economic Forum) and is also an advisor to the Steering Committee of BRICS CCI Young Leaders. Her work focuses on infrastructure development, industries, MSMEs, economic corridors and gender mainstreaming; it spans a wide range of sectors both in South Asia and Africa at the national and sub-national levels.
