Moment of Meditation: Coastland Peoples (Genesis 10:5)

From these the coastland peoples spread in their lands, each with his own language, by their clans, in their nations. Genesis 10:5 Japheth’s descendants spread out along the Mediterranean Sea from Asia Minor to Spain. They also spread into northern Europe as far as Wales, especially around the coasts. When God speaks about the coastland peoples, He is speaking of Japheth’s descendants. They are the most widespread of Noah’s descendants. The people who live in the coastlands are the most industrial people. They can trade with people by land and by sea. They can facilitate trade with those who live further inland. Not sure about that? Look at any map from any time in human history. The largest cities are next to the water. God considers even the coastlands to be places where His blessings are distributed. Amen.
