In the summer of 1964, Terry founded the Dragonwood Wildlife Conservancy, a visionary project that has evolved over six decades from a modest sanctuary into a massive 400-acre Florida nature reserve supported by four satellite facilities across the United States.To complement his decades of hands-on experience, Terry pursued formal degrees in Zoology and Environmental Science, cementing his status as a leading expert in herpetology. His influence now spans the globe through senior roles in prestigious organizations like the IUCN Crocodile Specialist Group and the Species Survival Commission (SSC).
