Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly, and welcome to the Montana Weather Podcast. It's Saturday, February 17th. Folks, Montana woke up with a temperature spread wide enough to drive a cattle herd through. Central Montana is sitting at minus 2 right now. That's the kind of cold where your nostril hairs freeze on the first breath. Head west and it's a balmy 16 degrees. Eastern Montana splits the difference at 12 degrees. Here's the thing. We're gaining almost 3 minutes of daylight today. Sunrise hit at 6:32 this morning. Sunset rolls in at 5:19. You can feel February tipping toward spring, even if the thermometer disagrees. Air quality is moderate, so take it easy if you're sensitive. Tonight the real cold settles in. Central Montana could drop to minus 10. That's frostbite territory in under 30 minutes. Western and eastern regions dip into single digits. Skies stay crystal clear with barely a breath of wind. Tomorrow brings a quiet Sunday. Western Montana climbs near 20 degrees. Central struggles to reach 10 degrees. Eastern Montana lands somewhere in the mid teens. Cold, but sunshine makes it tolerable. Perfect day for a slow morning and a second cup of coffee. Here's your heads up for the week ahead. Monday stays dry and calm. Then something nice happens. Temperatures start climbing by midweek. You'll want to enjoy highs pushing into the 20s and 30s. That's a 30 degree swing from where central Montana sits right now. No major storms brewing either. Just watch for some wind shifts later in the week that could stir things up. Alright. If this forecast helped you plan your Saturday, share it with a neighbor. Word of mouth keeps us going. Stay safe out there. Bundle up if you're heading out this morning. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
