Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Montana Weather Podcast — it's Sunday, February 22nd. Okay folks, Montana is doing its split personality thing today. And it's kind of wild. Central Montana woke up to minus 2 degrees — yeah, *below zero* — while Western Montana is practically throwing a beach party at 48. That's a 50-degree spread across one state. Classic Montana. Let's start east. You're sitting at 36 degrees today, dry and chilly. Tonight drops to 19, then here's where it gets weird — temperatures *rise* overnight as winds flip around. By Monday you rocket to 55 degrees. Fifty-five! Then a cold front crashes the party Monday night, bringing rain that flips to snow by Tuesday. Southwest winds gust to 25 miles an hour. Western Montana, you've got the sweet spot today — mostly sunny, 48 degrees. But after 2 A.M., light snow sneaks in. Monday brings rain and snow mix with highs near 49. Mountain passes like Lookout and Lolo will get slick, so take it slow if you're driving through. Central Montana, you're the cold spot. Minus 2 this morning, struggling to 29 this afternoon. But Monday? You jump to 55 degrees with winds screaming out of the southwest at 20 to 30 miles an hour. Gusts near Livingston could hit 48. That's the kind of wind that'll rearrange your patio furniture. For the week. Tuesday and Wednesday bring rain and snow statewide. The Beartooth and Absaroka Mountains could see 10 to 20 inches with gusts to 50 miles an hour — Winter Storm Watch in effect. Thursday gives you a breather with highs near 50, then another front Friday drops temperatures back to the 30s by Saturday. One quick thing — if this forecast helped you plan your Sunday, share it with someone who needs the heads up. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
