The Last Afternoon In The Garden Mail & Guardian Ayanda Ngila was assassinated in the Ekhenana communal garden in Durban, South Africa, on the 8th of March, 2022. Ayanda was 30 years old and shot in broad daylight in the middle of the afternoon. He was fixing a water pipe in front of women and children and as he went down he yelled for people to take photos of the scene so the truth of his death could be known. Those are the words of a man who was expecting to be killed and was clearly at the center of a conflict that he imagined would end in his death.Ayanda was a land activist and part of the organization Abahlali baseMjondolo, who have spent almost two decades fighting for the rights of the poor in South Africa. This story is about an assassination, but also about the violence you can face when you fight for your basic human rights like food, water and shelter. This is a four-part podcast series produced and presented by Paul McNally for Develop Audio. In breathtaking style the listener hears of the events that occur just before death and the events that come after it. The Imam gives a clear description about life in the grave, the horrors of the last day, the major and minor signs leading to the last hour and the day of resurrection. The Imam crowns this eloquently narrated lecture with the process of accountability and recompense. On the Day of Judgment those who pass the test will be rewarded with Paradise and those who fail will be rewarded with Hellfire. Join me as I dive into the last day that people saw their loved ones alive in an effort to find them or find out what happened to them. From Passion to Peace by James Allen Loyal Books The first three parts of this book, Passion, Aspiration, and Temptation, represent the common human life, with its passion, pathos, and tragedy. The last three parts, Transcendence, Beatitude, and Peace, represents the Divine Life—calm, wise and beautiful—of the sage and Savior. The middle part, Transmutation, is the transitional stage between the two; it is the alchemic process linking the divine with the human life. Discipline, denial, and renunciation do not constitute the Divine State; they are only the means by which it is attained. The Divine Life is established in that Perfect Knowledge which bestows Perfect Peace.
