Certain words take on meanings and connotations when they’re used to describe tannins in wine. According to the Wine Enthusiast, here are some words used to describe tannins and their meaning.Grippy: Immediately noticeableIntegrated: Perfectly in line with all other components, like flavor and weightSilky: Fine-grained and unobtrusivePlush: Soft and integratedVelvety: Soft but with subtle gripResolved: Smooth, no longer astringent, typical of mature winesHarsh: Not integrated into the wineAlso, if drinking a high tannin wine, it should probably be in the mid to upper 60's in temperature.
