⸻🇯🇵 مسیر توکایدو – ایستگاه پنجم: هودوگایا (Hodogaya)جایی میان کوه و ابرپس از گذر از کاناگاوا، جاده آرام‌آرام از ساحل جدا می‌شود و به سوی تپه‌ها می‌رود.بوی دریا هنوز در باد هست، اما صدای امواج جای خود را به صدای پرندگان و زنگ معابد داده است.راه به سوی هودوگایا (Hodogaya) پیچ می‌خورد — ایستگاهی که همواره میان زمین و آسمان، میان شهر و کوه، ایستاده است.در دوران ادو، هودوگایا پنجمین ایستگاه در مسیر طولانی نیهونباشی تا کیوتو بود.شهری آرام با جاده‌ای سنگ‌فرش که درختان کاج در دو سوی آن سایه انداخته بودند.مسافران، پس از عبور از شلوغی کاناگاوا، در اینجا اندکی مکث می‌کردند؛در قهوه‌خانه‌های کوچک کنار جاده، چای می‌نوشیدند و نفس تازه می‌کردند.نقاش بزرگ، اوتاگاوا هیروشیگه، در اثر خود از این ایستگاه، مسافری را نشان می‌دهد که در زیر باران راه می‌رود،و زنی که در کنار جاده ایستاده، فانوسی در دست دارد.در دوردست، مه کوه‌ها را فرا گرفته، و جاده چون نخی باریک در میان سبزی جنگل ادامه می‌یابد.در زیر آن تصویر، هیروشیگه نوشته بود:«در هودوگایا، باران و باد، دو دوست قدیمی‌اند؛ همیشه با هم سفر می‌کنند.»در آن روزگار، مردم می‌گفتند که اینجا جایی است که “دلِ مسافر آرام می‌گیرد”.نه به خاطر شکوه یا ثروت، بلکه به خاطر سکوت.در هوای مرطوب صبح، صدای زنگ معبد با صدای پرندگان درهم می‌آمیخت،و راهبان با چهره‌هایی آرام، از پله‌های سنگی پایین می‌آمدند.در یکی از سفرنامه‌های قرن نوزدهم آمده است:«اگر در توکایدو، جایی باشد که انسان خویشتن را بازمی‌یابد، آنجا هودوگایا است.»امروز، در قرن بیست‌ویکم، هودوگایا بخشی از شهر یوکوهاما است.قطارها از ایستگاه مدرن آن می‌گذرند،اما در کوچه‌های پنهان اطراف، هنوز خانه‌هایی با سقف‌های چوبی و فانوس‌های قدیمی دیده می‌شود.در یکی از این کوچه‌ها، معبدی کوچک وجود دارد که مردم محلی هنوز هر صبح در آن شمع روشن می‌کنند.زنی سالخورده می‌گوید:«هرگاه زنگ این معبد را می‌شنوم، احساس می‌کنم که جاده‌ی توکایدو هنوز زنده است.»در پای تپه‌ها، رستوران‌های کوچک و چایخانه‌هایی هست که چای سبز و خوراک‌های سنتی ژاپنی سرو می‌کنند.🇯🇵 Tokaido Route – Fifth Station: HodogayaA place between mountain and cloud.After leaving Kanagawa, the road slowly drifts away from the coast and turns toward the hills.The scent of the sea still lingers in the wind,but the sound of waves fades, replaced by birdsong and the chime of temple bells.The path winds toward Hodogaya —a station that has always stood between earth and sky, between city and mountain.In the Edo period, Hodogaya was the fifth post station on the long road from Nihonbashi to Kyoto.A quiet town, with a stone-paved road shaded by rows of pine trees.After passing through the bustle of Kanagawa, travelers would pause here —resting for a moment in small teahouses along the roadside,drinking tea and catching their breath.In his depiction of this station, the great artist Utagawa Hiroshige shows a traveler walking through the rain,and a woman standing by the road, holding a lantern.In the distance, mist covers the mountains,and the road continues like a thin thread through the green of the forest.Beneath that image, Hiroshige wrote:“In Hodogaya, rain and wind are two old friends; they always travel together.”In those days, people used to say that this was“the place where the traveler’s heart finds rest.”Not because of grandeur or wealth, but because of silence.In the damp morning air, the sound of temple bells mingled with birdsong,and monks with calm faces descended the stone steps.In a 19th-century travel journal, one writer noted:“If there is anywhere along the Tokaido where one rediscovers oneself, it is Hodogaya.”Today, in the 21st century, Hodogaya is part of Yokohama City.Trains rush through its modern station,yet in the hidden backstreets, old wooden houses and weathered lanterns still remain.In one of those alleys stands a small temple where locals still light candles every morning.An elderly woman says:“Whenever I hear the bell of this temple, I feel the Tokaido road is still alive.”
