Brain on Nature Sarah Allely What’s the relationship between nature and the brain? Join me, Sarah Allely, as I discover how nature helped me recover from a brain injury.  When a mild traumatic brain injury left me unable to read, write or watch TV,  I discovered my path to recovery was through nature. This podcast follows my journey of recovery, and my quest to find out why. What’s the science behind my experience? Many academics acknowledge nature’s health benefits, and scientists are yet to pinpoint exactly what it is that heals. This series returns to the forests and coastlines to immerse you in the sounds of nature that improved my focus and concentration, relieved my headaches and lifted my depression and anxiety. Hidden within yourself Marilou Rivera Smith I decided to start a POD cast as a refection of my life experiences. I shared my journey through traumatic divorce and child abuse. I remember it being hard to share and questioning if I had done the right thing by sharing so much of my heart and pain. Then it happened, I remember a woman like me, emotionally breaking as she reveled to me " she could not stop thinking about my story" it made an impact on her life. She said that I should share my story with the world, because it was inspiring and motivating. I knew right then that my story needs to be told. So here I am.
