Israel Garavito                                          Founding Partner  Legion Real Estate   Israel is a founding partner of Legion Real Estate, a real estate investment syndication company in the twin cities.     Additionally, he is a managing partner of Falstaff Holdings, a real estate investment and property management company with the majority of its portfolio in Mexico.     After graduating from the University of Minnesota in 2007, he began his real estate career in franchising, where finding good locations is a major bottleneck for expansion.  In 2008, as national franchise sales manager and later director of operations of for Mexico, he oversaw the search, negotiation and lease, buildout, opening and subsequent operation of 42 stores over a 4 year period. He and two partners also owned and managed 6 of those stores.  Israel was later hired as CEO by a well-backed Mexican franchise to design its franchise, legal, operational and administrative frameworks in the USA.  In mid-2014, after the company was up and running with 6 stores in the US in Venice Beach, downtown Los Angeles, CA, Houston, TX and Dallas, TX, the opportunity arose to take over the family business, so he moved back to Mexico as its managing director.     Since then, with smart acquisitions, some sales and many operational and administrative changes, the business’s income has tripled and the value of its portfolio almost doubled.  Most recently, Falstaff Holdings purchased a blighted 16 unit apartment building in the heart of Mexico City and remodeled it into a modern, business-oriented 24-suite hotel. The company has a mix of residential single and multi-family, Airbnb, boutique, vacation and industrial properties in Mexico and Minnesota.     ===   Like what you're hearing?
