Mysteries and Mimosas: Summer of 1974, Part 1

from Mysteries and Mimosas

On July 21, 1974, Jean Marie Schoen left her grandmother's Jacksonville Florida home on west 19th Street to buy cigarettes for her uncle, only two blocks away at Hanna's Food Store. After leaving the store, Jean went to an arcade called the The Hangout to play pinball, but the arcade was closed at the time. A man on a bicycle, "with hair like Elvis", approached Jean and dragged Jean into a bathroom. When Jean came out, she was crying. The man then left with Jean, and she has never been seen or heard from again. Then, on August 1st, 1974, Lillian “Annette” Anderson, and her sister, Mylette Anderson, disappeared from their Jacksonville, Florida home after their mother and older sister left them home alone to go care for a sick relative. Because their father, Jack, was delayed returning home from a fishing trip, he called to check on the girls at about 7:00 p.m. During that call, Jack heard the family dog barking. Worried, Jack called again twenty minutes later, but nobody answered the phone. Annette and Mylette were never seen or heard from again.
