Shawn Buckley sits down with Darcy Lewis, the son of the late Sheila Lewis. Darcy shares with us the incredible story of who Sheila was, her unwavering advocacy for organ transplant recipients, and the legacy she leaves behind. Livestream recorded Sept 8, 2023   In 2019 Sheila Lewis was diagnosed with a terminal illness and was placed on the wait list for a double-organ transplant that would allow her to live out her normal life. After complying with all of the requirements for candidacy, including re-taking all required injections listed on the childhood vaccination schedule, and being considered by her health care practitioners as the ideal candidate for transplant, Sheila hesitated in taking the COVID-19 vaccination and was moved down to the lowest priority of the transplant wait list by Alberta Health Services.
