  • Movement to Ease Restlessness: If you’re feeling anxious or keyed up, try calming movement practices, such as gentle shaking or swaying to rhythm, to help release pent-up energy.
  • Gradual Activation: Slowly move from gentle practices (like humming or stretching) toward more active methods, allowing your body to recharge naturally.
  • Mindful Breaks During High-Energy Times: Recognize that the holiday season can bring heightened energy, so incorporate regular self-care check-ins and mindful practices.
  • Tapping into Polyvagal Theory: Explore concepts from polyvagal theory to understand your body’s responses and how to return to a regulated state.
  • Planning for True Rest: I’m practicing what I preach by taking a break this December. I encourage you to prioritize true rest and carve out time for a personal retreat if possible.
