There are calls in Sligo for government regulation over smartphone use by young teenagers and early access to social media.This follows the success of Netflix’s hit tv show Adolescence, which explores how harmful online content is impacting how young males see the world.There’s also been a recent push locally for the series to be shown in schools, after Tanaiste Simon Harris gave his support for the idea.Local Fine Gael Cllr Fergal Nealon says something needs to be done to combat the negative effects being done to children:
