New Music Worldwide: Pletnev

New Music Worldwide is a weekly mix series hosted by Thris Tian. This week’s New Music Worldwide comes from Lithuanian newcomer, Pletnev.  During the last couple of years, Russian wanderer Alex Pletnev has continued to progress in the electronic scene. Taking part in the RBMA programme, owning his own label and curating parties in St. Petersburg, Pletnev now finds himself based in Vilnius in Lithuania. With a range of eclectic releases on imprints such as Meda Fury, Mahnsteig23, and Secretsundaze’s sub-label SZE, the Lithuanian newcomer has begun to perfectly represent the sounds of the scene and is a resident at the established Opium club in Vilinius. For his NMW mix, Pletnev gathers a selection of classic and new eclectic cuts, to represent the sounds that he would like to hear on the dance floors of today.
