On this Sunday’s edition of News You Can Use on WTIC NewsTalk 1080 at5:30a and 9:00a, host Ann Baldwin invites Dr. Frank LaBanca, Director ofthe Connecticut Science and Engineering Fair and Principal of WestsideMiddle School Academy Magnet in Danbury, to come speak about the 74thannual CT Science and Engineering Fairset to begin March 1, 2022.This is not just any old science fair withthe exploding volcano, this is a new agewhere students, grades 7-12, are able todisplay their work and ideas that can trulymake a difference in society. Although thefair is still through zoom, there arethousands of students who compete and are funneled down to around 500who participate and vie for over 500 thousand dollars in awards and manyother opportunities such as attending the International Science Fair inAtlanta, Georgia this May for the top students.
