Nightlight A Parody by The Harvard Lampoon

This parody novel, "Nightlight," follows the sarcastic and self-absorbed teenager Belle Goose as she moves from Phoenix to the perpetually rainy town of Switchblade, Oregon, to live with her eccentric father. Her misinterpretations and fantastical assumptions guide their bizarre courtship, as she attempts to force Edwart into her preconceived vampire narrative, even going so far as to date another actual vampire, Josh, to make Edwart jealous. The narrative highlights Belle's absurdist worldview, her inability to grasp social cues, and her persistent efforts to transform her mundane life into a dramatic, supernatural romance, culminating in her final acceptance of Edwart for who he is—a video game-loving, socially awkward human—after realizing her error during a chaotic vampire prom.
