No far right element in Dromahair - Linnane

A local election candidate in Leitrim says she is confident that there is not a far right element behind recent opposition in Dromahair to the arrival of those seeking international protection at the Abbey Manor Hotel. Bernie Linnane was responding to recent comments from her party leader Ivana Bacik who had expressed concern about the role of the far right in orchestrating hate in different communities which has led to attacks on accommodation centres that were earmarked for asylum seekers. Prior to Christmas, peaceful events were staged in Dromahair to highlight the concerns of some local residents to the arrival of the refugees to the village. Speaking to Ocean FM news Bernie Linnane says that there is only a small number of people in the far right movement nationally and believes it's not a factor in the village of Dromahair:
