No More War - 02-23-22 by Sokuzan - SokukoJi.org

from SokukoJi Buddhist Temple Monastery · host Sokuzan

No more war. That would be nice. It seems like all we hear about is war. Our history is full of it. People who are selfish, greedy, fearful and at the mercy of their opinions, beliefs and ideas create trouble for themselves and for others. What I am looking at is more confusion and it is very painful to see so many people who are completely unaware of their insanity. They cover it up with opinions, judgements and blame. When the blame gets really intense, they feel they need to do something about it. I would suggest that you train your mind. It is the craziness or insanity of the mind that thinks we as individuals are solid, in danger or threatened. When I say, ‘lose the war’ this does not mean that you go in the opposite direction and open your doors to everyone. Lose the interior war. Lose the struggle inside to be someone else or to improve. That struggle ends up being one cover up after another so the ego mind can feel like it is getting somewhere. This is the same structure that is happening in the mind of the dictator. Off the cushion, receive whatever shows up. Be involved in the communication going on in the world. https://youtu.be/E7GNrBXSKqQ
