from The North Dakota Weather Podcast
Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the North Dakota Weather Podcast — it's Sunday, February 22nd. And folks, we've got a state divided today: brutal cold up north, sneaky snow in the east. And sunshine in the middle. Let's break it down. Eastern North Dakota, you're waking up to exactly zero degrees. Not a typo. Zero. Scattered snow showers roll in by noon and stick around until 5 P.M., with a high of just 8 degrees. Wind chills? Minus 21 around 8 A.M. — that's the kind of cold where your breath freezes mid-air. Tonight drops to minus 3 by 2 A.M. But here's the good news: Monday warms to 20 degrees. And by Thursday? You hit 37. Yes, thirty-seven. Central North Dakota, you're the winners today. Dry, sunny. And a high of 11 degrees — practically tropical compared to the east. Overnight lows dip to minus 5, but Monday brings a dramatic shift: highs soar to 32 degrees. That's a 21-degree jump in 24 hours. By Thursday, you'll hit 45 degrees. Northern North Dakota, you're in the deep freeze. Overnight lows hit minus 10, with wind chills near minus 25. Today's high? A frigid 5 degrees by 4 P.M. Monday warms to 32 degrees, but by Friday night, you're back to 4 degrees. Classic North Dakota: give a little, take a lot. We're warming up big time — highs in the 40s by Thursday before a cold front slams temps back down Friday. Light snow is possible Tuesday and Wednesday, but nothing major. The bigger story? Wind. Gusts up to 39 miles an hour Friday will make that 36-degree high feel a lot colder. Alright. If this forecast helped you plan your Sunday, share it with a friend who needs a heads-up. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
