North Dakota Weather 3/9 Morning - Snow Starting 5 PM
from The North Dakota Weather Podcast
Good morning. North Dakota. I'm Michael Mosby. Step outside right now and Here comes 33 degrees under clear skies. Classic late-winter morning — the kind that makes you wonder if spring is ever actually coming. But here's the thing. Snow's forming in Montana right now and pushing our way. If you're along or south of Interstate 94, you're in the crosshairs this afternoon through tonight. Expect 1 to 2 inches, maybe more if those bands decide to camp out. Central North Dakota, your window opens around 11 A.M. and peaks mid-afternoon. Eastern areas, you wait a bit longer — 5 P.M. To 2 A.M., hitting hardest around 7 P.M. Northern folks catch a break with just a slight chance of flurries. Temperatures cool behind this front. Highs today range from 30 degrees up north to 38 in the east. Tonight drops to the low 20s statewide. Tuesday stays mostly cloudy with a brief warmup — upper 30s to low 40s. Wednesday brings sunshine and temperatures pushing into the low 40s. Then Thursday gets wild. A clipper roars through with rain and snow likely, southwest winds gusting to 40 miles an hour. And highs jumping to the upper 40s. Then the bottom drops out. Friday cools to the mid-30s with snow chances. The weekend? Another system takes aim Saturday into Sunday. We're talking 3 to 7 inches possible in central areas. Highs crash to the low 20s Sunday with lows Sunday night dipping to single digits. Active pattern continues. Stay tuned. See you this afternoon.
