North west unemployment figures remain high

It's emerged that two north west counties are among the top five in terms of highest unemployment rate per capita.That'a according to new analysis by the National Pension Helpline which recorded 464 people signing on per 10,000 in Donegal, putting it second highest nationally.Leitrim, meanwhile, was third, recording a figure of 438.Last year, it was revealed that that there's no prospect of any economic development by IDA outside of Carrick-on-Shannon.Local Councillor Justin Warnock feels it's time that the north of the county gets the recognition it deserves.
