The opioid epidemic and overdose crisis has put the potential and actual consequences of drug addiction right in our face. These issues cross all demographic, geographic and political lines.   Are people in active addiction not aware of the risk?   From Matt in Ep. 009: "I actually for some reason, I just always believed bad things wouldn't really happen to me. I wouldn't die. I wouldn't go to prison. So when I went, the reality of the situation was setting in when we were in line to eat… and it comes across the news, WSAZ - 6 people arrested."   I met Matt at a Community Based Correctional Facility. I worked there. He lived there.When he left that facility he went to a treatment program.   When he left the treatment program, he went to a transitional living house.
