Nadat er vanaf de jaren negentig een ommezwaai kwam in de zorg voor ouders van doodgeboren kinderen, is er heel wat veranderd. Ziekenhuizen hebben nu protocollen waarin ouders wordt aangemoedigd en gestimuleerd om een band op te bouwen met hun kindje. Er zijn speciale fotografen en zelfs gespecialiseerde uitvaartondernemers waar het ziekenhuis mee in contact staat. Maar wat is er overgebleven van de jarenlange zwijgcultuur rondom doodgeboren kinderen? Journalist Zvezdana verloor haar zoontje Mikki in 2015 na ruim 34 weken zwangerschap. Zij vertelt hoe zorgverleners, zijzelf en haar omgeving om gingen met het verdrietige overlijden.
