The discussion of the menorah has been spread out in many places. First in Exodus 25:31-40, where it is planned.Second in Exodus 37:17-34, where it is made. Third in Exodus 40:24,25, where it is set up. Fourth in Leviticus 24:2, where talks about the sacred oil and now here we find the actual lighting described. Interestingly, God seems to not say everything about one subject in one place, and in fact the entire Bible is like this, it requires searching out to understand, and nobody can quickly know everything.The bible requires more than a mind, it requires heart and will. This means that those with mind only either are hardened in pride, or give up thinking the Bible is foolish. They are prevented from finding the greatest of treasures. In the scriptures the lampstand represents three things: Christ himself who is our light The word of God…. “my word is a lamp unto they feet” (Psalm 119:105) The church - see Revelation 1The reality is that without Christ, his word and the church we do not have proper light. Some people think they can in theory have one without the others but it doesn’t work as intended. Some think they can have Church or the Word without Christ, but that leads to heresy, or apostasy, or strange misunderstandings. But likewise people are not supposed to pursue Christ and ignore his people the church, somehow they miss Christ when they do this thinking they have him.Finally the chapter ends discussing the commissioning of the Levites for service. There was a difference between Levites and Priests. Priests were Levites descended from Aaron, of the tribe of Kohath, but the Levites were a much bigger group.
