After some injuries, and the cuts of Mancini and Willander, the Canucks roster is set for opening week! Matt and Blake go over the various permutations that led the Canucks here, but also the myriad of possibilities that remain before opening night on Thursday. The guys look at the immediate futures of Cootes and Lekkerimäki, but also of guys like Bains and Karlsson who have made the grade.... for now. John Shannon stops by to elaborate on his reporting that Cootes will definitely play in the opener, but would offer a different view on what lies ahead beyond that. John also weighs in on the McDavid contract and what ripple effects that may have, if any, for a guy like Quinn Hughes. Shannon talks about the possible players association reaction to a discounted deal like that one, and he also gives us his Canucks prediction for the season. Then it's RinkWide's Jeff Paterson with a recap of the final preseason game and a look at the weekend's practice which was minus Teddy Blueger and Derek Forbort.
