One-off housing urged to be made a priority in Leitrim

A Community activist in Leitrim expressed his concern that efforts to address the unique challenges associated with planning permission in the County is slipping down the list of priorities for County Councillors.Sean McDermott served as a County Councillor in the Manor MD up until the 2024 Local elections last June.He says that with the construction of one-off housing virtually non-existent many areas of North Leitrim in particular the current batch of elected representatives need to the issue front and centre of their respective political manifestos.The Former Fine Gael Councillor says he detects that the issue of planning may not be as high of property as it should be with some Councillors.
