Summary

In this meditation we’ll silently and steadily repeat the word ‘one’ over and over to ourselves. There’s no particular significance to the word itself — the intention is only that we focus on the repetition of it. In this way we can engage in a kind of neutral mantra practice, using the word to anchor our attention and bring us into a deeper state of calm, stillness, and peace, whilst simultaneously promoting focus and concentration. One of the other wonderful things about any kind of mantra-style practice is that it can really help to silence our mental chatter — because when we set the mind the simple task of repeating a word, it can become much more difficult for the inner dialogue to establish itself and take over. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. They are offered completely freely, with the sole intention of supporting your personal wellbeing. The Guard at the Gates

    Release Date: 11/13/2023

Description: In this meditation we’ll settle our awareness on the breath flowing in and out of the nose, using the metaphor of a guard standing watch at an entryway to help deepen our focus and attention. In essence this is a really simple and common meditation — focussing our awareness on the nostrils. But sometimes making slight adjustments, like applying different images and metaphors, can help us to connect with the practice in a new way. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to anyone who listens to them, and that they can bring a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. Sitting Like a Tree

    Release Date: 12/01/2023

Description: In this meditation we’ll sit like a tree in the wind — resting and unmoved. In a similar way to the Mountain Meditation, by calling to mind the image of a tree and imagining all its qualities of strength, flexibility, rootedness, and stillness, we can begin to feel ourselves embodying these same qualities, and as a result we might find ourselves entering into a more grounded and present state of mind. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to anyone who listens to them, and that they can bring a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. Counting the Breath

    Release Date: 11/03/2023

Description: In this meditation we’ll simply count the breath — anchoring our attention in the rhythm and flow of the breathing, whilst occupying our mind with the repetitive task of keeping the count. Breath-counting is a very simple and common method of meditation. It’s often used as an introductory technique for beginners, but it’s subtlety and effectiveness make it appealing for experienced practitioners too. I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to anyone who listens to them, and that they can bring a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. Watching the Nose

    Release Date: 01/29/2024

Description: In this meditation we’ll watch the breath at the tip of the nose, focussing on the sensation of the air as it flows through our nostrils. The nose offers a simple but really effective anchor for mindfulness meditation — it’s relatively easy to tune into, and for many people the sensations here are strong enough to hold the attention (which also makes it easier for us to notice when the mind has wandered). I really hope that these recordings can be of benefit to you — bringing a little bit of ease, calm, and gentleness to your day. They are offered completely freely, with the sole intention of supporting your personal wellbeing.
