Oregon Weather: 02-22-2026

from The Oregon Weather Podcast

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Oregon Weather Podcast — it's Sunday, February 22nd. Alright folks, we've got a split-screen situation today. The Willamette Valley is drowning while Central Oregon gets a brief flirt with spring before the rain crashes the party. And those winds from last night? Still making a scene. First, the drama. Southern Oregon Coast and Curry County are under a High Wind Warning until 10 A.M. — gusts hitting 65 miles an hour. That's the kind of wind that'll turn your trash cans into tumbleweeds. Secure anything loose before you leave the house. The valleys. If you're in Portland or Eugene, today is a full-on soak. Steady rain from 3 A.M. Through tonight, peaking around 8 A.M. In the Willamette Valley and 6 A.M. Down south. Highs barely scrape 52 degrees. Tonight? Another half-inch to three-quarters of an inch of rain. By Monday, we're looking at another 1 to 2 inches through Tuesday. That's flood watch territory, especially in the Coast Range where snowmelt adds to the mess. Over in Central Oregon, you wake up at 33 degrees but climb to 50 by 3 P.M. — a 27 degrees-degree jump. Catch? Winds gusting to 20 miles an hour. And rain mixing with snow at higher elevations by afternoon. But here's the good news: you dry out faster. By Wednesday, you're looking at mostly sunny skies. Looking at the week ahead. Monday and Tuesday are the wettest days — 1 to 2 inches in the valleys, more along the coast. Wednesday starts to improve. By Thursday and Friday, we're looking at partly sunny skies and highs in the low 50s. Next weekend might actually bring sunshine that sticks around. Quick favor: if this helps you plan your week, share it with a friend who could use a heads-up. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
